The 2nd trailer for Ant Man 3, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania dropped today (10th of January 2023).
Many things were revealed and new characters were shown in this new trailer.
When the first trailer for the movie was released, it was looking like a fun movie with some seriousness. But after looking at the second trailer, it will not be wrong to say that we are not going to see a lot of fun in this movie like the other two Ant-Man movies.
In fact, it is very likely that the fun part will be over in the first 15-30 minutes of the movie.
The plot of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania
From the first trailer, the plot of the movie was kind of clear. Cassie, the daughter of Scott makes a device to send a signal to the quantum realm with the intent to help. But things take a turn and they all get sucked into the quantum realm and there they meet Nathaniel Richards A.K.A Kang.
But this Kang is not the same Kang who we saw in the Loki series. This Kang is a variant from another universe and unlike the one we saw in Loki, this Kang is cruel.
How they will escape from Kang and the quantum realm and get back to their life is going to be the basic plot of the movie.
But now after looking at the second trailer, many things get more clear and we get to know how the story will unfold. In the second trailer, we get to know that Ant-Man and Kang get into a deal. Kang needs something to power up his device and in return will give Scott all the years he lost being in the quantum realm away from his daughter. Scott agrees to the deal but when Kang gets what he wants, or maybe Scott denies Kang to give that thing. Kang and Ant-Man get into a fight, realizing the stakes if he hands over that thing to Kang are high.
We hear ant-man say, “I don’t have to win, we both just have to lose”.
So ant-man will sacrifice something for the greater good and will try to prevent Kang from his plan.
Modok in Ant man 3
In the 2nd trailer, Modok is introduced and is seen by Kang’s side.
So who’s Modok?
Well in the comics, Modok has 2-3 origins. But the one which was more recognized is that he was working with A.I.M on a project of creating a cosmic cube. A device with infinite possibilities, and to study the cube they needed someone to experiment on. Hence the project was called M.O.D.O.C ( Mental Organism Designed Only for Computing).
And George Tarleton was the guy they picked to do experiments on. Later on, George Tarleton goes on to become Modok, which was the result of the experiment. The experiment made him super intelligent and as a result, his cranium size became way bigger than what a normal head would look like.
Due to the experiment, his body became so weak that he needed a life support system for himself. Hence we see Modok in a chair-like device.
Modok has been seen in Captain America comics, and Hulk comics. . It’ll be exciting to see how they will introduce him in Ant-Man.
Ant man 3 villains
After the first trailer, it is very clear that Kang is going to be the main villain. But in the second trailer, we see the introduction of Modok for the first time in the MCU.
This raises the curiosity of every fan. What is he doing with Kang? How he and Kang met. It’ll be exciting to watch how they set the origin of Modok in the MCU.
Kang has already been introduced in the MCU in the Loki series. But the Kang we saw in Loki is not the same Kang we are going to see in Ant-Man.
As Kang from the Loki series said, he is the best Kang they have and the other variants of his are far worse than he is.
The Kang we are going to see in Ant-Man is a variant from another universe.
Will Ant-Man die?
In the trailer, we see Kang and Ant-Man get into a deal. But later on in the trailer we see both of them fighting and at one time Kang threatens Ant-Man that if he does not do as Kang says then he may lose his daughter.
But knowing that if the device gets into the hands of Kang, their universe will be at risk so he denies Kang and they both get into a fight.
The trailer has established that this movie will be the beginning of Kang’s dynasty. That means Kang will win and will go on to execute his plan.
So there is a high possibility that Ant-Man might die at the end of the movie.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is going to release on February 17.
